Today’s social media-led world is filled with numerous images, many of which don’t reinforce young girl’s positive self worth and natural beauty.

To help young girls in Harlem develop their own sense of self-worth and boost self-esteem, we are hosting a free four-hour workshop for 15 girls aged 11-14 years old, especially those who may be challenged with self-esteem issues.

Girls will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Register here. The trained facilitators and youth leaders are from Omerge Alliances.

The below activities will take place and are specifically designed to help the girls intentionally create their life from internal cues vs external motivation.

  1. Vision Board Development:  Girls take their vision boards with them home!
  2. Healthy Peer Confrontation & Resolution Exercise:  Girls are guided on healthy confrontation skills against bullying, pressure for sex/drugs.
  3. My Beauty Exercise: Self-recognization mirror exercise to identify personal inner and outer beauty
  4. Dreamer Talk: Career Guest Speakers
  5. She Did That: Special film screening (short version) about black female entrepreneurship.
